Ignorance is the source of all suffering. We practice the way of awareness in order to overcome ignorance. One must look deeply into things to penetrate their true nature. One cannot overcome ignorance through prayers and offerings.

One-on-one consultations

For those who prefer to learn one-on-one, individual appointments are available. You may like to make individual appointments to

  • clarify your goals
  • choose a path of practice
  • work with life's challenges in a healing context
  • take your work in meditation classes deeper
  • work with personal issues and reactive patterns in a dharma counseling format
  • learn to live more creatively with a serious illness

One-on-one consultations are there so you can explore your own questions in your own time.

Often people choose to come on a regular basis. If you have an ongoing meditation practice, it will assist your progress to discuss how your meditation is going and any challenges you are experiencing, and to get feedback regularly.

If you are working with significant long-term challenges you might wish to come every 1 - 2 weeks for a while. With longer intervals, the habitual reactive patterns may not be sufficiently brought to mindfulness in a practical sense and progress is likely to be slow. For regular meditation reports a meeting every 2 - 4 weeks is suitable for most people.

Where: : 45a Harvey St, Mosman Park
Cost: suggested donation in the range $100 (good wage) - $40 (unwaged)/ hr. Those having regular consultations might wish to discuss their donations.

Dana - donation

Assess your own donation according to your means and how you want to support the teaching. You may give more or less than the suggested donation. There are at least two bottom lines to keep in mind: the dharma is available to everyone regardless of means, and the practice of dana (giving) is a very direct & well-tested way to move into an openness of spirit. Through practicing dana we learn to support that which supports us. This brings us to an ever deeper appreciation of the myriad ways we are supported by life in each moment. Giving, or opening, is an integral part of meditation training.

If you generally give the minimum or below, what does this say to you? If you give more than the suggested donation, you will be directly supporting the dharma work of others who are not in a position to pay very much. Some people like to offer non-monetary contributions.
