about Spirit

Spirit is a Fremantle/ Perth group drawn from many spiritual traditions. Our line-up is harmoniums, keyboard, guitar, didgeridoo, percussion and many voices! We are taking devotional chanting out of its traditional venues and into a wider audience.

Our chants are based on the Indian tradition of Bhajan, which is a way for everybody to join in with inspiring, calming and uplifting music (bhajan means 'to share' - more about bhajan). We blend the traditional style with the contemporary rhythms and instruments of world music. This is music for meditation, fun, centering, tuning in to each other and to open into our potential ...

Our performances are spiritual but not religious - these chants are for everybody with a spiritual, meditative interest.
